The landscaping was given to Thomas Smith's Daisy hill Nursery Newry, whilst the contract for the
bandstand, which was opened on the 8th of August 1907 and which bears the town's crest, went to the cast iron founder, Walter
McFarlane of Glasgow.
The good condition of the bandstand today justifies its cost of £222.
